Prescriptions take up to 48 hours to complete. The practice accepts requests in writing, online or by post. We are unable to accept requests over the telephone as this could compromise patient safety.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to attend the practice to see either a doctor or nurse for a medication review. This will incorporate monitoring blood tests and reviews and will be at a minimum, an annual recall.
New patients who have repeat medication will have their repeats reinstated once all their relevant medical data has been transferred as clinically appropriate and following LMSG guidelines; the practice will issue acute medication until then.
Ar Razi Medical Centre is proud to be a consistently low prescribing practice, saving the NHS money and ensuring the safety of our patients by rigorous monitoring, using evidence-based, clinically appropriate and cost-effective guidelines leading to the avoidance of unnecessary prescribing, which in turn prevents waste.
We encourage patients to take control of their medication by using the online prescription service. Patients are able to order repeat and acute medication, send relevant information to the practice about their medication and avoids over-ordering by pharmacies who are sometimes not as up to date with any medication changes. All you need to do is come in to the surgery with some kind of photographic identification and a username and password will be given to you. System1 online is available as an App which means you can be in control on the go.
